I am considering buying an LED tape plus driver to fit as under-cupboard illumination. However, the furthest run of units (as the cable flies) is a good 9m away.
I wondered if 9m is OK regarding distance on the outgoing side of the driver.
LEDHUT said this would be no problem, but I wondered what your opinion was.

If the "driver" is a DC power supply with a reasonably smooth DC output then 9 metres of lead to the start of the strip would not be a problem.

If the "driver" has a 12 volt (eff) output then the waveform of the "DC" output may be such that a long lead will be radiating interference.

For what its worth this Cnristmas Tree Star has 12 volt LED tape ( 102 LEDs ) with a 30 foot lead from a 9 volt DC power supply ( NOT an SMPS ) and pulls just under 500 mA,

Fit the led tape in some aluminium profile with milky cover.

Light output is diffused, it sticks perfectly and will stay there and will last longer as heat is dissipated.
