Hi, I have bought a 7W aluminium LED wall light. I want to use it with a plug, so I bought some cable (with Earth) and it worked fine until...I bought an inline switch, which is now blowing a fuse in the consumer unit. I am sure the wiring is OK, but it is a cheap switch. I have taken the switch out and now it works again. Is using a switch a problem? Thanks for any advice.

Far more likely that it was the way you wired the switch that was the problem.
