LED's GU10 not working with switch and not Dimming properly

Hello,
I bought dimmable LED's to use with the dimmable switches and non dimmable LED's to use with normal switches

These are the types:

I am finding when the dimmable LED's are on the dimmer switch they flicker quite badly when trying to dim them?

And already the non dimmable ones I have used on these switches have blown:

I have a feeling the LED's are just very bad quality as my electrician is saying the switch is not the problem, but any advice would be appreciated

A lot of stuff is sold as dimmable
Then when you read the small print it sometimes states something like
COMPATIBLE WITH CERTAIN DIMMERS
There are various types of dimmers about and the minimum loads vary and you need to ensure the load exceeds that minimum load rating

The dimmer you posted has a minimum load requirement of 40w, add up the total load by conting the LEDs and x by the wattage if less or just on 40w that's the problem.

Really, led dimming requires dimmer lamps and extra low loading style dimmer switch. Ones with a 10w-50w load use level tend to be the job.

Your electrician needs educating then
The dimmer shown states it is a LEADING EDGE dimmer
The lamps you show clearly state only to use a TRAILING EDGE dimmer

£7.50 for a LED is very cheap and I suspect you got what you paid for.

Also you have a leading edge dimmer, so a trailing edge dimmer may be compatible - do the LED lamps give any information? EDIT It appears they do

Unfortunately compatibility with LEDs and dimmers is a problem even with well known brands.

Some of the better known manufactures are getting together collaborating to make their equipment compatible or they are making their own dimmers e.g. MK and Phillips have joined forces to offer practical solutions with LED dimming and Halers make their own dimmer. Otherwise it is down to experimenting and experience.
