What has? Apart from government saying they disapprove of drug taking, which everybody knows anyway. Something stronger might help, like the anti-speeding and DUI ads we used to be treated to.

They tried that, school lectures, ads, the whole lot. Failed. Some of it because it was clearly *******s, some of the American stuff was so hilariously over the top it backfired.

If that's to be a valid reason for not legalising some drugs then it must be applied to alcohol, and the legal status of that revoked on the grounds that there's illicit bootleg booze.

I’ve seen the debate around legalising cannabis go on for years, and honestly, it seems like most of the arguments against it are more about tradition or outdated laws than actual evidence. I lived in a place before that had strict rules, and it didn’t really stop people from using cannabis, it just made it harder and riskier for everyone. Once I moved to an area where it’s allowed for adults, things changed a lot, and people seem less stressed about running into trouble over something pretty common.

We won't know until it's tried. The legal outlets would have to be competitive. If it's sold at a loss it could still be a benefit if criminality is reduced
