This may be a stupid question, but when putting a waste pipe (e.g. 32mm, 40mm) into a boss connector with snug, how much should protrude into the soil stack, and should the end be finished in some way?
It shouldn't protrude at all, there should be a stop in the boss adaptor to prevent this. What did you mean by "with snug"? You're not trying to use a Pipe Snug as a boss adaptor are you? That's not what they're for.
It really wants to be no further in than the outside of the soil pipe.
Just chamfer the edge to ease it past the rubber seal and de-burr the inside.
NB. Some bosses these days don't have a stop in them as I found out when leaving the apprentice to finish off and he shoved the waste pipe right though to the far side of the soil pipe!!
I could go on but It's best I don't as there could be some bad language involved!
