How are they the bane of this country? They have no real power.

Ask yourself this..

How many times do you have to 'swear allegiance' just to join everyday groups?

How many politicians would be allowed to enter parliament without an oath?

How many civil servants (police included) would not be able to take up office it they refused to swear that 'allegiance'?

I suggest you acquaint yourself with the terms of common law before you utter your b*llshit!

Perhaps people shouldn't join the police or girl guides if the oath offends them

Others who obsess about such things and in some bizarre way use such an onerous requirement to justify a republic, should emigrate. Plenty of republics to choose from.

I see no harm in the royals, i see more harm in benefits scum and the ghettoisation ( yes i think i made up a word) of certain cities by ethnic minorities who want to be tolerated and yet dont tolerate the British and their views. And as one post suggested last week, for some reason european immigrants take the blame for alot of things and yet the ethnic minority groups seem to be accepted these days when its them who are causing the most harm to our once great nation. We are the laughing stock of the rest of Europe and the world, finances aside. We bow down to everything Brussels says, and bow down to ethnic minority groups when other nations stick up a middle finger and say deal with it. We only have ourselves to blame. We voted the governments in and continue to do so. We let the minorities dictate to us and moan about it alot, but fail to rally together against such activites which p**s us off to bring about change.

To summarise - the royals are the least of our worries, and i say lets be proud of them, at the end of the day its undeniably British....

Let's face it, ellal is either a closet communist, or loathes anyone in a position of power (of any sort) He won't accept the rules of society (unless they match his ideals of right and wrong. Often on this very forum, he's almost tried to defend the indefensible, simply because he doesn't agree with the law of the land

Nothing wrong with having an opinion, certainly does't deserve a good kicking or exile.

I sometimes wonder what the royals would have achieved if they had been born into a normal family.

Phil the Greek would no doubt have made a middle ranking naval officer.
Queenie would have married some banker and raised a family.
Her sons would have done very poorly indeed, would not have made any impact at all on society or humanity, lower management if that. Wouldn't surprise me if some ended up in jail, certainly Andrew acts like some mafia boss with his dodgy deals. Charles, a complete abuse of process.
William would no doubt be working in the theatre like his uncle, certainly not RAF pilot material, he took somebody elses place there without a doubt. I suspect that social climber he married wouldn't have taken a second look at him.
Harry would make a rather good infantry NCO.

Lets hope the expectant mother does well and the child has to apply for and get a job like the rest of us i.e on merit.

Just happened to come across this. I agree. Changing someone's post, to me, just rings of childishness or perhaps someone trying to look clever who really isn't!

I think there should be something in the forum rules and regs. about this.

Netiquette went out of the window when AOL started cold calling the masses selling dial ups and browser based forum software was invented. It's never been the same since.
