Leveling floor.

Having recently removed a stud partition wall,I now find that the resulting gap in the floor needs filling/levelling.The floor is of some bitumen like material and the gap is aprox.12ft. long x5in wide x2ins.deep.
Whats the best procedure?

brush pva 1-1 into the hole and fill with a semi dry mix of sand and cement and flatten
