The light bulb in my hallway has gone 3 times in just over a month! Is there a problem apart from cheap bulbs, i tryed a good one and gone!

What kind of lamp is it specifically? Is there any vibration to the above area? What sort of fitting?

Its just a pendent, i had a normal bulb in and it went so i put a energy saver in and gone! Its a bathroom cupboard upstairs but a walk in one!

hmm, i guess being a cupboard the lamp isnt used for long periods? In which case a standard filament lamp would be better - low energy lamps dont like being switched too much.

Also, is there steam in the cupboard from baths? this will affect low energy lamps, with their sensitive electronics.

Aside from the environment, take teh back off the lampholder and check the connections are tight.

What sort of lampshade is fitted?

If the shade is closed at the top, there won't be enough ventilation and whatever you put in will overheat and fail.

No sorry i ment its a bathroom cupboard above the light you asked if there where any vibration! Its at bottom hallway light

Sure it's down to lamp failure?

I get many calls from customers telling me their lamps "keep blowing" only to find a loose connection in a fitting or switch.

When each lamp stopped working did you just bin it or did you try it in another fitting?

Have you still got the CFL to check if it's working elsewhere?

Just a thought.
