Light fitting question

Hi,

Sorry, complete novice here.

I bought a couple of lampshades from Next - Light Teal Crackle Pendant. Normally, I would just unscrew the light fitting, attach the lamp shade and screw it until fastened.

Unfortunately, these lamp shades have oversized holes so don't fit. Can I purchase a larger thing to screw into the bottom of the light fitting? Or do I need a whole new light fitting?

Difficult to say without be able to view to problem you have!
If you could take some photos and upload them, of the existing lamp holder and the new fitting showing your problem it could be helpful.
But on the link the lamp holder does look a standard fit.
Maybe your lamp holders are not?

Shade is probably designed for the wider, European style 42mm lampholders, also used for low energy lamps

You can fit a 42mm low-energy pendant holder:

or use a reducer:

or try to find a 42mm ES holder (I very much doubt you'll find a BC one)
