Hi all,

I've recently had my bedroom ceilings overboarded and reskimmed. I need to put new light fittings up but what screws are best to go through 2 lots of plasterboard and into the rafter?

Sory for the novice question.

Long screws.

Depends how thick the light fitting base is.

Size 8, 2 inch, 2.5 inch or 3 inch long perhaps?

It's just the pendant set which every house has in every room. Boughta few from B&Q for £3.00.

I guess that 2 x 9.5mm platerboard = 19mm plus some of the screw to go into the rafter.

Any screws will do?

You will probably manage with 2 inch long screws - that's 50 mm long.
