light inisde chimmey breast

im looking at fitting a light in the chimmey breast there was allready a light fitted in the chimmey breast ,the idea of the light is to to light up the fire place , they is a small gas fire fitted in the hearth were some heat does go up the fire breast , can anybody recommend a light fitting which can stand a certain amount of heat

Oven lights seem to work ok, I'm sure as long as you get a good quality metal housing that has porcelain type fittings inside with good quality heat resistant cable you'll be fine.

the fire fitted is more of a small decorative fire which does not give of a lot of heat , the light fitted previous was a type you would find in kitchen a 12inch strip light shinning down on worktops . the light it self had stop working , what im trying to do is find better quality fitting which will give longing life
