Ive noticed that the ceiling bulb flickers faintly every 5 seconds while the powers off at the switches..This only seems to happen in our (main) bedroom, we have a usual wall switch plus a pull-cord above the bed. BTW, the bulb is one of these hopeless energy saving jokes..

in case you couldn't be bothered, it's exactly because you have 2 way switching and low energy lights..

the strapper wires in 2 way switching pick up voltage from the live wires and it builds up enough charge in the lamp to strike it.. which then discharges it and it goes out and the whole process starts again..

it doesn't happen with regular lamps as the charge can drain away to the neutral easily in that type..
