Ok I have replaced my light switch in the master bedroom looking at other switches in the house they are all wired the same as the diagram I have below

So I wired the bedroom switch the same (it now works correctly) but some how now the landing light (without touching the wiring)
is the opposite switchin ie if the switch is in the normal off postion the light is on and verse vica. Any ideas??

thinking about it now, am i right in saying as the landing light is a two way switch it will always change as there is two switches ie never be in the right postion.

Have i thought there is a issue when really there isn't?

With 2-way switching no single switch can ever be up for off and down for on, or vice versa, since as I think you've just realized it depends upon the position of the other switch.

Depending upon how the connections have been made between the two switches, you can end up with two possible sets of permutations:

1.
Up - Up = Off
Down - Down = Off
Up - Down = On
Down - Up = On

2.
Up - Up = On
Down - Down = On
Up - Down = Off
Down - Up = Off
