Hi,

I am trying to replace a very old kitchen light and have these wires. The new light is a led one and only says two wires need to be connected. I have no idea what I need to do!

Please could someone let me know what goes where?

Thank you so much,

Joanne.

did you take a photo of the old connections with the light connected ??
its possible the REDS where all connected together - was that the case ?

do you have a multimeter ??and know how to use it ???

Afraid not to either. There was at least one (prob more) red wire from the ceiling in that block thing - the twisted wire with no colour was connected to the yellow and green one in the old light fitting.

That black on the left with doubled over end. Mark that will tipex red paint or red tape. Be careful not to get it mixed up.
That goes into the light L block.

All the reds will probably need joining into a joining connector block.

The 2 black pair into the light N

Before you do anything marks that black wire that is on its own!!!!!

To get the wires into the light, the copper bits need to be straight, and on their own.
So use the 2 holes for the 2 blacks that are currently joined
