Lighting Problems

Hello,

I am studying Product Design, and I am In the process of creating a design brief for a DIY light.

If you have any problems with lighting, please post about your experieces, and explain what type of light and or job you would like the job to do and how you would use it etc.

Well for a start it must be rugged, and a flood beam is better than a spot. And multi brightness levels will help

A LED such as a Luxeon or Cree will be very bright and last much longer than an incandescent bulb or flourescent tube.

And battery wise, I would want it to be available in an emergency so a lithium cell or Li-ion rechargeable will keep its charge when not in use.

A stand or hanging device, and directional head will help - possiblly detachable and magnetic.

Size-wise, I would want it small and compact to fit in a tool box
