I am fitting 2 /3 double sockets into a new conservatory, I am taking the spur from a combined 30ma rcd/13amp fcu connected to an existing 2.5 ring circuit. I may connect the additional sockets using 1.5 T&E. My question is, can I add another fcu rated at 6A to the spur and supply a single light fitting with 1.0mm t/e fitted into plastic conduit to the roof of the conservatory? this would save having to drill through the cavity wall to conect to an existing lighting circuit.

Yes.

I'd wire the sockets in 2.5, to make it easier to convert them to a ring or 16/20A radial in the future.

NB: FCU's are all rated 13A - but you can put a 6A fuse in :)

the conservatory is not mine however no building regs needed due to floor meterage and amount of glass in overall construction.

Gary Mo are you saying no to the fuse change or the running of the light from a fused conection running of a fused conection?

He's saying you can't get 6A fuses....

Your plan is OK apart from that - use a 3A fuse for the lights.

yea hes right about the fuse, bad typing Im afraid hit the 6 instaed of the 5 but since Im only going to use about 0.8 amps I see your point of the 3 - thanks
