Limestone v travartine tiles

What is the difference between limestone tiles and travartine tiles? Do they both need sealing with a stone seal and is there any advantage to either?
Any particular requirements of either?
I hope to put them down on a bathroom floor.

Travertine generally stain less easily than limestone so out of the two I would opt for travertine. However, if you added porcelain to the list of choices then I would go for that. Both travertine and limestone will need sealing and an amount of maintenence in the future to keep staining at bay. With porcelain (or regular ceramic for that matter), once they're fitted you can forget about them.
