We have a 1929 house with a hall that looks like it is wood panelled. It is not. It is Lincrusta which now needs some attention.
Which is the best option? Should we restore the lincrusta (basically specialist wallpaper made to look like wood with some wood rods to make it look like panelling)? If so how?
Or should we give up and replace with real wood? The whole house still has lots of original features so we are keen to leave it with an original feel . The trend then was to have a dark hallway but we might lighten the effect if we can.
Any idea which is more preferable (lincrusta/wood) for a historic/house value point of view?
