I like the smooth effect that lining paper painted over, gives and want to decorate landing, hall and stairs in this manner. However, I have noticed that in my bedroom I have to be very careful not to catch the wall with furniture or it will cause dents and marks. My hallway is quite large. Do I have to use thicker lining paper or can anyone suggest an alternative paper that would give the same smooth effect and that I could re- paint when necessary?
