Lippings ??

I have made some sliding door cupborads from half inch ply with oak veneer. I am hoping to varnish the veneer as there is a nice grain.
Any ideas what to 'edge' these boards with please ?
Someone suggested wood 'lippings' but when I have asked in the DIY stores I get blank looks !!
I wouldn't mind the 'iron on' type plastic edging but the colours are not many to match the oak veneer.

Solid timber lipping is usually something you have to machine up yourself, not buy off the shelf.

You can buy real wood iron on edging which would be ideal for you, just use a houshold iron to put it on. There people willl do small amounts and post it to you.
