Hi,
I have moved into a new house that has 2 Lithe Audio Ceiling speakers in the lounge.
At the moment they are powered by a switched fused connection unit off the ring. The switch is in the middle of a wall at eye-level and looks ridiculous.
I'd like to power it from a nearby ceiling rose. I know it has to go via a FCU and that they shouldn't be in the ceiling void as it's inaccessible. Could it be argued that as the speaker can easily be dropped out of the ceiling - it is accessible and an FCU could be secured to a joist?
The existing FCU cannot be moved without butchering the wall as the cable(s) are covered in dot & dab with no capping. The last thing I want is to have a FCU on the ceiling.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
