Hi peeps.....today i heard a couple of arguments about the best way to locate a break in a ring final cpc....Which do you favour?

Ill set the scene.....

Your carrying out a continuity test on a ring final circuit, you have measured the end to end resistances of both the phase and neutral conductors but....... your getting an open circuit on the cpc

How do YOU `locate the break`?

short L-E at the CU on one leg, and N-E on the other.

Walk round every socket front etc doing a continuity test L-E and then L-N. when you loose L-E continuity, but start to get N-E continuity you are somewhere near the fault. (or vice versa)

Then whip socket fronts off and trace and test the wiring.

Good bit of advice that.......... thats even logged in my brain after a few wines
