As with a lot of things, there is no common standard of fittings to allow the use of lockouts.
With the exception of fuses (which we take away with us) all of our gear can be locked with a padlock with a 1/4 in diameter hasp. These padlocks are coloured red, have only 1 key and are individually numbered - and can cost a fortune!
