Hello everyone, just got a couple of questions regarding our loft conversion plans and some of the beam placements.

So beam B3 and T6 the architect has advised should go above the existing lintels/ loft joists. So by doing this I’m assuming the new beams would have to be packed up by 100mm on the left hand side and tied into the brick party wall on the right? Is this correct as I assumed the beams would replace the existing ones and the existing loft joists/ new loft floor joist would both sit on the new beams (new floor joist would be packed up 25mm).

My next question is regarding beam T2. The drawings obviously show this hung on joist hangers but would need to go tight to the party wall. How would this generally be done on a joist hanger as it would need to be sunk into the wall to keep it tight?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Chris
