I have bought a house with a converted loft but BC have detailed amendments to be made as I requested for a Regularisation Certificate.

I will probably post here over time as I am doing this bit by bit as its a huge space 4 rooms to be honest!!

What type of Insulation boards do I need in the roof and depth? I am in Northern Ireland by the way.

It is not a simple as that. You may (or may not) need a SAP calc' doing to assess where and how you beef up the loft insulation.

You also need to look at how robustly you install the insulation etc in terms of vapour control and venting. It may be that you need to add vents to the roof or that you may need to thicken (add battens to) the rafters in order to achieve an air gap above the insulation etc.

However, a typical vaulted ceiling would contain say 100mm Celotex type insulation between the rafters (with a 25-50mm air gap above) and a further 50mm across (beneath) the rafters. This combination of thicknesses is the most practical but not the only one fitted.
