Firstly,id like to say hi :D

I have often dreamt of converting my loft to another room-mainly for something i collect which needs space :)

I spent the last few weeks clearing the loft, and it had recently been re-insulated.

Anyway,i got up there and started work. The floor was my first task so i started on that.I removed any insulation above the joists so that i could lay boards on them without any trouble.I then started to fix the B and Q loft floor panels to the floor and the first line turned out ok,but to my horror the middle of the floor is really uneven and it looks quite horrific. There was a small bit of variation to start with but to be honest,i am going to unscrew all the boards and monday and get some advice here before i proceed any further.

I think that the joists are uneven, and that there is no chance in hell i will get a level floor on them. What can i do to sought this out and has anyone else had the same problem.

if i had to pay someone to come in to redo the joists, what would it cost me? Im in a 3 bedroomed semi detached in luton.

Any help os appreciated very much.

Thanks

Lee

i assume your after light storage off things like xmass decorations!!

if you are after a conversion you need to comply with building regulations
and iff your timbers are less than around 8"x2"[200x50mm] at 400m /16" centres they need beefing up
