Want to make a loft hatch bigger.
The picture is taken from the loft
Remove section of joist (X)
Put in two pieces of timber (A), same size as existing joists, and attach with joist hangers to the other joists at either end.
Put in Noggin (B).
And then do the stuff needed for the hatch.
The question is - is this OK/Good enough/Safe/A Problem ...
[ps to the left on the pic, you will see that the joists rest on a structural wall in the middle of the flat. The joist extend about two metres from the existing hatch to the right.
