Hi,
The roof of my loft has some of the black felt type material broken (I'm not sure if that's what it's called), it's rigid to touch so not that easy to work with. I'm not sure if this should be glued to the roof batten (I can't see any nails).

How do I fix this so it's well covered and smooth?

You can see how pieces are broken and the piece which looks fine.

Thanks

Put some board on the inside held with 2 battens fixed either side.

Only way to repair felt if it's a problem is to remove tiles and lay new felt

When you say only way...as in get scaffolding, remove tiles from outside and then put felt in?

IF so, I think I'll try the battens on the inside with some left over shed roof felt

To stop water ingress if the roof gets damaged felt has to go on the outside. No way to do it from inside

Don't get too stressed: many old roofs had no felt at all and were healthier for it. It's only there as a backup to the tiles

Would black gorilla tape stick to it? If so, use that to tape it back into place.
