Hi guys ,
i have a loft which maybe a potential room but there are three timber posts fixed from ceiling (top of apex) to the floor joist therefore holding or supporting the whole thing up any ideas how i could somehow brace off and give myself more room space as they are in the middle of the room?

thanks Lloyd

I think you'll need some steel girders and the services of a structural engineer if you want to do this. Sounds ominous!

<what he said.
We can advise/debate on here regarding feasability and potential solutions if you were to provide more details. But ultimately you will need to consult an expert.

Those timber posts seem like hangers supporting the ceiling joists - you don't actually have floor joists in a loft, as you don't have a floor.

You can't use the ceiling joists as a floor and so you need to put new floor joists in. These new floor joists will be self supporting, or supported by timber or steel beams

right ,thanks for that a little more work than first thought but will llook into it
