I have a multifuel burner
Lived in house 3 years fire burns good (wood only), up till this summer, had the chimney swept for the first time.
The sweep said that my fires were hot & the chimney was not heavy in tar soot.
So I was pleased with that report.
Now it seems whenever we light a fire we get a room full of smoke (like the old London fog), when it is windy (as it is now I think there is more smoke in the room than goes up the chimney.
I thought it was a wind direction issue, but that it seems is not the case, its a detached house so no nearby buildings causing eddies.
Any tips ideas welcomed

Have you tested the draw on the chimney via smoke bomb?
It maybe that even though the flue has been swept that a blockage has occurred. If you are suffering from down-draft issues then you may need a to fit a down-draft prevention cowl/cap.

With no wind there is a good pull, but when its windy its all downwards.
I thought of one of those spinning cowls, but the reports say they spit the tar, I also don't fancy listening to it.
I have sent an email to a company that look as they know what they are doing, they can come & advise, maybe raise chimney height.
