Does anybody know of a source of the tongue and grooved timber profile used in log cabins ?

what size. most decent timber merchants will do the thinner stuff

The log cabin I'm currently sat it came from Lithuania, if that's any help.

Are you looking to do a repair or a new building? Either way, a local timber yard should be able to manufacture the thickness and profile of timber you require in any timber you so wish. Cedar's very popular at present since it doesn't rot easily due to inherent oils within it. Personally I'm not too keen, but I'm probably in the minority.

are you on about the "tongue and groove" 2x4's that interlock to form the walls? or just cladding type stuff?

Apologies should have been clearer in my post.

I'm talking about the thicker interlocking profiles they vary from 35mm up to about 65mm thick, I know you can use a router to run some up but wondered if anyone new of a source of ready machined sections.

I know you can buy kits for self assembly, but wondered about availability of the sections. Anywhere !

you might try calling the manufacturers to see if they'll sell just the timber if it's a one off thing you're after..

it might be just as cheap to buy a kit off them as they shape and cut it all for you so you don't pay for bits you might have to throw away, lose in machining and might have left over, and the asociated shipping cost of the extra weight.
