Hi, I am finishing a suspended deck and fitting the posts and looking for advice on the fixing to use.
I am putting a post in the inside corners and this means that they will sit behind a 45x 195mm joist on one side and 90x 195mm on the other. The post is 83mm thick. I want to "trap" a cross piece (sort of noggin behind the post) and then put a bolt thorough the whole lot. Problem - I need a really long bolt (i.e. 90mm wide joist + 83mm post + 45mm noggin = 218mm). I have found 220mm bolts but struggle beyond that (none in screwfix).
So 2 questions:
1) Where can I get longer bolts in an M10 or M12 width
2) Is this the right idea for fixing, or should I be doing something else
