Looking for a rigid yet lightweight sheet material

Sometimes the panels are very lightweight and only held up with magnets, the material being black and brushed to get the pile to help mask the joints.

But I don't see why the material really matters either, if it's suspended beneath a ceiling slightly it can have a frame behind and be in one piece, it just needs so be on some lift-on brackets. Or are you trying to get it flush with or right next to the ceiling?

Thanks, I'm having supports either side to rest them on and was going to try and get away with not having brackets in the middle, however that may be the best route to prevent sagging so I'll have a look into that.
