I have a submersible water pump used to pump water back into a fish tank after a large water change. I am looking for a switch I can wire into the cable or a single socket switched extension. Sounds easy but I can't find one.Any suggestions out there?

Need more info.

What are you trying to do exactly?

Why do you need an in-line switch?

Pump goes in a 100 litre vat in order to move the water to a glass tank. When tank is full or the vat runs dry I want to be able to switch off the pump rather than having to unplug it.

So the guy has a tank normally full of fish, and a temporary vat which he uses to temporarily store the water during cleaning, said water being pumped by a temporary pump plugged into a socket?

And float switches are the answer?

I'm not convinced.....
