Looking for recommendations for wall mounted bathroom extractor fan

Interesting product. Can't help thinking though that if you really need that level of sophistication in automation, fine-grained adjustments, etc, rather than just being like oohgimmethehightechwizardstuff, some kind of centralised ventilation system would be far better.

Yeah, I think all I need is something that comes on when it detects a person moving, then stays on for about 20 minutes after.
Having an app puts me off the product!

Any timed overrun fan you care to choose, and a separate PIR detector. Then when the fan fails you don't have to throw away the PIR.

Ignore that - you don't have the wiring for switched and permanent live. Sorry.

I wish it just came on with the light!
No, well, access to the light is possible, I think (although might be boarded...) but I'd need to make holes in the wall for the cable.
That Vent-Axia one can be triggered by the light via a photocell, so no wiring changes needed. And you can set a delay so that the fan doesn't come on if the light is only on for a short time.

Well, YOU might need the “level of sophistication”.

No, I don't. What I said was that for someone who did I thought they'd be better off with a centralised system.

Maybe I should have said might be better off with....

But the OP has few options @morqthana - what solution would YOU propose??

That vent-axia is quite neat with the way it has its own photo- and proximity sensors so you can have it triggered by a light, or a warm body, and be timed, with only a 2-wire supply.

Whether that functionality is worth the price to the OP I don't know.

Any fan can be triggered by an external photocell or PIR, but that won't give a timed run. If he can predict how long he wants the fan to run from being turned on, (not off), he could use a Shelly which is quite cheap, if he doesn't mind a bit of DIYing.

Or if he has easy access to the wiring to the fan but doesn't want to have to attack the wall he could put in a 12V one where the intelligence is in the 12V supply.

vent-axia has some bad reviews, doesn't sound worth the rush.

I went for a Blauberg Calm IR.
Sensitive ir comes on with light or movement from door towards shower, overrun was 16 minutes but just turn to max, which should be 30 mins.
