Looking to do patio do I need weed membrane

As per title

Looking to add new patio, do I need to put down a weed membrane below the hardcore, most people don't seem to use one from the videos I have seen.

Will be doing 100mm mot1, 30mm bed and 20mm tile.

as above, not a "weed" membrane and you would only need a suitable membrane if you find the underlying subgrade is wet and sloppy, to stop the hardcore gradually mixing with the wet mud/clay and sinking, and if it's trafficed enough to make that a problem.
The only way I can think of to stop weeds with a weed membrane would be if you put the weed membrane on top as weeds grow from on top of the muck not from below.
