as above, not a "weed" membrane and you would only need a suitable membrane if you find the underlying subgrade is wet and sloppy, to stop the hardcore gradually mixing with the wet mud/clay and sinking, and if it's trafficed enough to make that a problem.
The only way I can think of to stop weeds with a weed membrane would be if you put the weed membrane on top as weeds grow from on top of the muck not from below.
