Loose kitchen cupboard door

Happy Christmas All

We had Magnet kitchen fitted (by them) about five years ago. One of the fittings on inside of a cupboard door has now worn, so door can’t be screwed in position. Magnet we’re v unhelpful with snagging issues, even b4 pandemic, so want to avoid going back to them if I can.

It looks to me like the whole backing plate on door needs to be replaced. Do you know where I might source one of these. Ta

What is the fitting for ? Not clear in your description or photo’s.

Thanks for response. If you look at second photo, there’s a sort of circular plastic plate that the plastic screw (last photos) is meant to secure to. The problem is that, over time, some of the plastic has worn away, so screw has nothing to tighten against. There seems to be one complete unit that screws to the inside of the cupboard door. Have added a new photos to illustrate.

The damaged bit is bottom right.

At Thought you’d spot that Wilson. Do you have any ideas? I just can’t figure out whether the tray is permanently fixed to the bracket on the back of the cupboard door etc.

Start again:

New images 1,2 and 3 is cupboard in question.

New images 4 and 5 show affected area. Ie where tray doesn’t connect to door due to damaged area illustrated in previous images.

Challenge-do I need to replace whole backing plate connected to inside of cupboard door, that and the tray etc etc?

It looks like there should be a tab on the basket that hooks into the rail on the door.

Thanks both. When you say “there should be a tab on the basket”..the only thing is the plastic screw thing. (In first lot of images) That would normally be positioned in the recess (also shown in first lot of images) and screwed to secure. However, the recess/hole thing has worn away, and now, nothing to secure to!!

I can't see the part you mean.

Empty all your belongings out of the cabinet and show us a faulty part and a good part.

I have a feeling it will be a Blum, or perhaps a Hafele, magic corner or something.

I feel like the bloke on Allo Allo. (I vill say zis only vunce )

New images show empty lower basket, screw with plate and recess, screw tightened. Problem is, the screw slips out of the recess as soon as you open the cupboard a few times.

Final image shows problem compounded, as door not aligned properly. This no doubt due to er indoors twisting the wheels and screws at the side. (Unconnected but parallel issue)

Any wisdom much appreciated.

I think it's a "magic corner" which I can't find on the Blum pages, but on my Magnet kitchen, the fittings all seem to be Blum.

Is yours like the "swing" on https://www.blum.org.uk/products/magic-corners

Possibly a similar but older version?

If you can identify the maker, and any reference numbers on your accessory, you can contact them with a photo and ask if they can supply a spare part.

Hafele is another manufacturer with a very wide range. I don't know another maker that's as big as those two.

Unfortunately I can't make out from your pic what the broken part is. Some kind of bracket or fitting that has come off the mounting strip? Is it a broken weld, or should it be retained with screws or rivets?

If it is just a matter of a screw not holding tight into the door, that's easily fixed.

Or is it a mushroom head that (should) fit into a keyhole plate?

I've got a "Le Mans" rotate-out gallery shelf, which I prefer. Mine is made by Hafele but will fit any make of cabinet.
