Lost my only key for Nissan Vanette

Hi,
I have lost my only key for my Nissan Vanette. I have managed to get in to get my tools etc. out and I have removed the barrel from the ignition to see if I can get a key cut, but as the van has an immobiliser will this work? I know I can go to Nissan but they have quoted me hundreds of pounds and to be honest I cant afford that at the moment. Is this my only option?

yes looks that way m8,the key will have a transponder chip in it and it will need to be programed to the car.try joining a nissan forum they might be able to point you in the direction of someone who could help you,or see what your insurance company say.

Google "second hand car parts". There are loads of them. You will have to buy 1 the key 2 the transponder 3 the immoblizer ECU and the door locks but it will be a lot cheaper than a main dealer. Where i used to work, for a early model it was about £100.00 for the lot
