Hi,
Just moved into a bungalow, it has a hot water cylinder in a cupboard under the stairs(I know I said bungalow, it has 1 room upstairs) obviously the hot water pressure is pants. We are having a new boiler fitted soon and they are pressurising the heating system(it's quite large). We have an ensuite at one end of the house, the kitchen in the middle and main bathroom at the other end(with a separate bog somewhere in the middle), bathroom to bathroom is approx 20 mtrs the tank in the middle(ish). Would something like this:-

Be enough just to give the hot water a bit of a boost(enough for showers)
It is a vented tank BTW.[/wiki]

If your mains pressure and flow are good enough I would think about an unvented cylinder, as your having the boiler changed it would be worth getting a price for a new cylinder, a lot better than messing about with pumps ect.

Ditto.

If you do go the pump route, you will have to be careful that the noise from it isn't intrusive. Siting it, and damping vibration need careful consideration.

Thanks, I've have looked at that and it's about another £1000(ish) on top. And to be honest at the moment can't really afford to do that, it can be done at a later date, just too many other jobs that need the cash for now. Looking at that pump in the link It looks like its plumbed in the same way as a heating pump, i.e in line with the pipes and not placed on the floor so should be similar to the heating pump in the way you can't hear/feel that working.

If you go for a new combi boiler you will get mains pressure hot water.
Getting rid of your old copper hot water tanks and pressurising
system all in one.
Job done.
