LPG Domestic Storage

https://www.liquidgasuk.org/uploads/DOC65F1825C7F50A.pdf has the Code of Practice from 2017 (whether that is when the distances were revised I know not).

Which says, about existing installations, where they met the regulations in force at the time...

a) the installation met the relevant requirements of the Standards and Guidance
in force at the time of its installation and the installation does not present a
safety risk; or
b) a risk assessment demonstrates that the installation does not pose a significant
safety risk.

Correct.

But that won't help when A N Other supplier , to take on the ownership and risk of an existing tank, and their assessments mean they want it to comply with the Current Standards.

Which is the OP's situation.

Rock and Hard Place.

Update
I contacted one of the suppliers & asked them to come & re-site the tank, they said it wasn't there's so they couldn't.
I said I will contact Calor & ask them to remove it. They said it would cost to much money to install a new tank in the correct location. I said I would pay. They said NO.
I have managed to get a bit of movement from Calor on the price p/L

I don't want a heat pump reasons:
I'm to old to get return on investment.
I have no room for hot water storage
I have no room for larger radiators
There are probably others reasons
I also don't want an EV car.
