how do i link 8 no LV downlights together operating from 2 gang switch? what size cable is required......

Can you give a bit more info, i.e. what type of lighting arrangement you are intending to install, this will help explain how to wire them up.
Also cable size should be either 1.0mmsq twin & earth or 1.5mmsq twin & earth. Do you have LV transformers ?

they willbe in 2 banks of 4 running pararell to each other

except where the ceiling rose is you will have a 4 way 5 amp junction box, and where the lamp is you will have your transformer.

also you will have one 2 gang switch as opposed to two one gang switches, but its all wired the same

where are you getting the supply from?

OK so as they are low voltage do they have individual transformers ? Or is there a multi-way transformer ?
Are you replacing an existing lighting circuit ? If so what do you have in place ?
