Hi everyone,

Is M12 BSP even a connection? I have been told M12 has a different thread to BSP...

I am trying to connect an element with a M12 male thread to an expansion chamber what do I need to ask for on the Expansion chamber? Is it an M12 female? Can I do it this way?

Thanks

BSP is an Imperial configuration that uses a 55degree Whitworth thread form. M12 is a metric configuration that uses a 60 degree metric thread form. So even if one seemed to fit the other, their threads are different.

One of the left overs from our world class engineering days is that BSP is still used across most of Europe for piping threads.

The only connections that use M12 thread on domestic plumbing in this country are flexis to monobloc taps.

We might be able to help more if you could describe or photo what you want to connect!
