m8 thunderbolts with hex - Rachet or drill bit

Hi I have some m8 bolts to install a ridge plate to a wall. whats the best thing to install these - a rachet or a drill bit?

Is the wall threaded somehow? Eg steel with nuts behind. I think you'll need the right kind of fixing which may probably involve using a drill bit to make a suitable hole and then whatever fixing suits the material.

hes using thunderbolts that cut their own thread in masonary. I have hammered them into concrete before but if brick I would screw them in. just use whatever, spanner socket set impact driver
