Having looked at all the megamilers on Autotrader, they all look like their mileages had an extra digit added in error.

I don't think I've ever seen anything beyond 400k that was genuine.

It was a taxi, by the way.

If that mileage was genuine, I'd buy it!
Assuming a 5 day working week and a 8 hour working day, it would mean that it had been driven for something approaching 60 mph, every hour, every working day since it rolled off the line.
With just a few minor failures and a few advisories it must be an excellent example of durability.

MOT centres are often not garages.

You are not at any point required to have the work done at that MOT centre.
