Car Insurance

I can understand why.
What would be your budget?

I'd have to look at the markets to consider what I'd like to spend but I'm sure youd get a good example for under £3000. I think my first one cost £1500, 1.25zetec, 5 door, 30k full history but that was 11 years ago.

6-800?
I wish. The cheapest I ever found was £1200...

Too much of a scaredy cat to go to Auction.

3K is way over budget unfortunately. How old was your Fiesta with 30,000 at the time?

Auctions are much better these days. As long as you stick to the finance house dumps you are normally ok.

It’s basically where dealers go to buy cars for 1200 that they will sell on for 3k.

I wouldn't rule out cars with a timing belt - chains fail too and changing them is always a pain.
However if you want a chain engine, consider a Nissan Micra?
John :)

6 years if I remember correctly

My old man had a Rover 75 with the BMW 2l CDI and the chain went on that just after 90k (if I remebrem correctly). Terrible luck. For a rover it was a really nice motor that.

A 2012 Fiesta (six years old) with 1.25 engine and 35K on the clock is going for £4491.
In fact, it's the cheapest 2012 Fiesta.

The market is very different now compared to what it was. Fords hold a lot more money than they used to.

I went to see a BMW the other day that was only 18 months old. I pointed out there was a fair few marks and scratches on it. They said it would all be fixed, but I didn’t fancy a half resprayed car. Anyway 5 mins after I left it had another 1000 on the price. Obviously accounting for the extra work needed

I’m told that at cooper BMW chain, if the price ends in a 2 then it can be reduced and a 4 means it has been.

Yes - I mean like this - this is the same car btw. £25,794 before I test drove it and £26,952 after I drove it and pointed out the work that needed doing. if someone pays 27k for a car that will have been mostly resprayed. I feel for them. - ending in £...4 haggle, ending in £...2 at best price.

I just thought it was an odd (strange) number to end with. Usually rounded up to the nearest quid or given the old 99p trick
