Had my walls done with lining paper, all looked great.

I painted the walls with Dulux Ivory Lace matt,, brilliant. Ran out of paint and went to purchase some more. Started painting the adjacet wall with the new paint and then touched up some areas with it.

Then I noticed a shiny blob when I touched up. Was puzzled by it and then looked at the tin. It's SILK.

I feel like such an idiot (It's been a long week).

Can I go over it with matt or will it crack? I'm not a fan of silk at all.

Can anyone advise?

I see there is a similar topic on this but as I have lining paper I'm not sure if this changes anything.

Thank you

I take it that this shiny blob is just the sheen of the silk and not some other sort of imperfection such as a bubble in the lining paper, if so very very lightly sand over the silk. All you need to do is dull down the sheen dust off and apply your matt, you would be wise to thin it down a little as this will aid in both penetration and flow.
