Mains flushing radiators, combi boiler

Can i check if the procedure i am following is correct?

Close all TRV's on all the radiators apart from one radiator, starting upstairs..

Open the boiler filling loop

Open drain point located in bathroom to flush through for 5 mins

Close the first radiator and then do the same to the next radiator and so forth

Is the above procedure correct?

Would you also recommend when doing the flush to close the lockshield valve before moving to the next radiator?

you shouldnt have used X800 , you will get pinholed rads now and your pump bearings will fail

I can't turn back as to what was used, any other product you recommend to get the water clear? X400?

The radiators look relatively new

Best to sit down and sketch what you imagine what the pipe layout is. You will then realise why the muck left in the system is not clearing

Water through valve A will only clear pipe to drain point
Water through B not A will clear the radiator but only the base rib of the radiator
Running the boiler at say low temperature, and having drain point at appropriate location, will clear the radiator totally but will need trickle flush for much longer time

I have no drain points upstairs, however i have 3 drain points downstairs, would it be best to open all 3 at the same time?

X800 can be used, it's the time it's left in the system that's the issue. X800 is a high power concentrated cleaner and shouldn't be left in the system much more than 24hrs.

If it's left in too long it can start to eat parts of the system metals. I.E. the rads and the pump bearings and other parts of the system.

X400 can be left in a lot longer without issue.
