Hi

I am having a extension built and one wall will be visible brick.
This mean that during the build the cables can be run in the cavity and then poked through a hole to the kitchen.

What Im stuck with is after having gone to the trouble of a nice brick wall, I want the mains sockets to be flush.
I was thinking of pre-preparing a couple of bricks with the space for a socket back box ground out and then the builder just lays them as normal, but I was wondering if there was some other method.

any help of ideas always appreciated.

Thanks
TK

There is no specific preclusion from running cables in cavities, however consideration must be made to their environment.

Ensure that they are properly supported and clipped against the inner leaf, and consider the presence of insulation in the cable calcs. You might want to use conduit in the cavity to aid any future replacement.
