Making and fitting a bath panel

Hi,

I'm making a bath panel out of beaded MDF panels and I'd like some advice please.

You need to decorate both sides before fitting and all cut edges to prevent it getting wet and swelling.Put under lip and seal with silicon once installed.I never leave access to pipes , if they installed correctly they don't leak, if they ever do then panel will be ruined and need replacement.
 
Sorry to jump in here, but I would make the panel removable or at least have a hatch near the waste. In case you get a blocked waste which might not clear from the top.

I've done a couple, used moisture resistent MDF .


I do 2 'layers' of 1/2", 1 whole rectangle piece then 4" strips pinned and glued on top around the perimeter creating a recess in the middle where you can put beading inside.

First layer is taller and sticks behind the lip and then the top layer (4"strip) flush with the edge. Hope i have explained well?

Then i use brass cups and screws which make it easy to remove and also looks really nice (not in picture)
